Another Giant Goes Home

Honoring the Life of Pastor John MacArthur with a few word that came to mind.  We didn’t agree on everything, but I have gleaned so much over the decades and I have deep appreciation and respect for the man and his ministry.

A sober and serious approach almost always was the tone and tempo of the day.  Slough off the praise of man, glory that fades, I believe he strived with all his living heart to be faithful to the Word of God continually carrying the weightiness of the call, the responsibility, the mantel.

He was something resolute in a world of squish. He was someone unafraid of man, with a world that worships men.   He was unashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for Salvation. He was honesty in a society that placates, driven by the reason for God over the emotions of men.

He loved the Word of God, the Logos, the frame that upholds it all.   Unequivocal, unapologetic, and unwavering in conviction.   Line towing in orthodoxy…it’s easy to criticize, when you tow no line at all.   He lived a life pouring over books and notes, decades of study and thought, with thousands of hours of research and preparing-a hope built on nothing less, than Jesus blood and His righteousness. He fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith.
